A native of Saskatchewan, Canada, Dan Basaraba had no inkling that his relocation to British Columbia would set him off on a career path in cryptozoology. Dan has the distinction of being the only person to have obtained two segments of video footage shot one year apart to the day of what is possibly Ogopogo, the unknown denizen of Okanagan Lake.
In 2002, Dan was appointed the Okanagan representative of the BCSCC and he has served the club well in his role as liaison to the public and the media in that area. His profession is in the realm of aquatics and Dan can be found carrying out his daily duties at the Peachland Watersports complex in Peachland, B.C.
Dan has appeared with his footage on the Sally Jessy Raphael program and was a technical adviser for Nippon TV’s World’s Mysterious Wonders program and the TV France 3 production on Monster Hunters. he is also an accomplished rock diver.
